Chennai: Actor Vijay rides a bicycle to cast his vote in the elections. The actor’s move was in protest of fuel prices. Vijay came to cast his vote at a booth in Nilangarai, Chennai. The images are widely circulated on social media. After seeing the star, the fans lost control. Eventually, the police used lathi to control the crowd.
Earlier, Makkal Niti Mayyam leader Kamal Haasan had come to cast his vote in the morning. Kamal Haasan cast his vote at the Corporation School on Eldams Road. Rajinikanth, Ajith and Shalini came to vote. Rajinikanth’s vote was cast at Stella Mary’s College in the Thousand Lights constituency. Ajith and Shalini registered to vote at Thiruvanmiyur School.
Meanwhile, the polling percentage in Kerala is approaching 50. According to the latest update from the Election Commission, the turnout in the state was 48.71 percent, up from 1.30 pm.
The turnout of men has crossed 50 percent. 50.74% of men have so far registered to vote. 46.81% of women have so far cast their ballots. The death toll polling booth has risen to three. The deceased was identified as Karthyayani, 68, of Nenmara Vithinassery, Palakkad.
Gopinath Kurippu (65), who came to vote at Govt. UP School, Vallamkulam, Booth No. 8 in Aranmula constituency, Pathanamthitta, died this morning. Annamma Devasya, a resident of Nattassery, Kottayam native also died in the polling booth premises.
