Jailer Continues To Be Unstoppable At The Box Office: Creating New Records
Rajinikanth starring Jailer continues to dominate the box office and the film is performing extremely well in the second week of its theatrical run. The movie is likely to become the biggest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu.

Attention all movie-goers! Get ready to witness history in the making as Rajinikanth’s Jailer is set to break records and become the highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu. This epic masterpiece is on track to surpass the previous record holder, Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part I, which was released just last year. The box office is now being ruled by Rajinikanth’s Jailer, the movie in its second week looks stronger and continues to dominate by creating new records.
The shocking news is that on the ninth day, Jailer was able to collect ₹9 crore from all languages which makes the total collection from India to ₹244.8 crore. As a working day, the collection is considerable as a huge amount and beats the 9th-day collection of Varisu and Thunivu. The weekend collection of Jailer is supposed to collect more, and experts predict that by the end of this weekend, Jailer will collect 500 crores.
By the ninth day, the worldwide box office collection of Jailer was ₹400 crores and by the first week the movie was able to collect ₹375.40 crores and it was officially confirmed by the production company Sun Pictures. The advance booking for the upcoming days looks vigorous and the movie is getting lots of repeat audiences. In UAE, Jailer has dethroned Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film by collecting $6.4 Million. Today in Kerala, Jailer will cross the lifetime collection of Kamal Hassan’s Vikram and will become the highest-grossing Tamil movie in the Kerala box office. Today, box-office tracker Ramesh Bala shared on X that in June of 2022, Vikram achieved the status of the highest-grossing movie in Tamil Nadu. Later in October of the same year, PS1 (Ponniyin Selvan: I) surpassed this record. Currently, Jailer is making significant strides towards becoming the new highest-grossing movie in Tamil Nadu. He also tweeted that there is a strong anticipation for Jailer to reach a significant milestone of $5 million in the United States today, on August 19th, Saturday. Additionally, it was noted that despite the presence of new releases, Jailer has maintained its position as the top-performing film in the United Arab Emirates during its second weekend.
