Washington: CEO Elon Musk has officially unveiled plans to charge Twitter users $8 per month for a blue tick next to their name.
iPhone users in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can now purchase the Blue Tick. Musk also stated that it will be introduced in India within a month.
It is indicated that the blue tick on the existing 4.5 lakh verified accounts will not change.
The action comes after Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and Tesla founder, acquired Twitter. He had revealed the matter of charging the amount the other day. “Those who have complaints can proceed with it. If you want to get a blue tick, you have to pay eight US dollars a month. Pay and authenticate” was the tweet.
Blue Tick is used to identify the accounts of prominent individuals. There was a report that Blue Tick badges will be lost from their accounts if they do not pay after 90 days, but no official decision has been made. After many dramatic moves, Musk bought Twitter for 3.62 lakh crore rupees (44 billion dollars).
