Washington: US President Donald Trump moves to ban Chinese company Alibaba Trump has hinted that action will be taken against other Chinese-owned companies. Last week, Trump ordered the suspension of all dealings with BitDance, the owners of Tik Tok and WeChat, citing threats to national security, foreign policy, and the economy. Tech giant Alibaba has focused on e-commerce, the Internet, and retail.
Trump has also issued an executive order giving ByteDance 90 days to shut down Tik Tok in the US. ByteDance has also been asked to exclude possession of data obtained from Tik Tok users in the US. It is alleged that the Chinese government is receiving data from US users.
