New Delhi:  VLC player reportedly banned in India VLC, developed by the Video LAN Project, is the most trusted video viewer in India.
It is reported that the VLC media player was banned two months ago, but those who installed it earlier will not have any problem.

VLC was banned in India after it was discovered that the Chinese-backed hacking group Cicada was likely to carry out cyber attacks on VLC.

Since the current ban is a soft ban, neither the VLC authorities nor the central government has responded or officially announced it.

VLC’s site and app are currently available.
