J C foundations best actor award for the year 2010, was bagged by Mammootty for his performance as ‘Aripraanchi’ in Renjith’s ‘Pranchiyettan and the Saint’. Navya Nair was awarded the best actress for her role in ‘Yugapurushan’, and the director of ‘Elsammma Enna Aankutty’, Lal Jose has been selected as the best director.
Lalu Alex was awarded the best male supporting actor for his marvelous performance in the Mohanlal film ‘Shikkar’, while the other awards are: best supporting actress (female) Ambika Mohan, best newcomer Samudrakani (Shikhar), best newcomer (female) Akhila (Karyasathan), lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Nampoothiri (Yugapurushan), music director Berny Ignatious (Karyasthan), best playback singer (male) Madhu Balakrishnan (Yakshiyum Njanum), best playback singer (female) Rajalakshmi (Janakan), Best child artist (female) Baby Anikha (Katha Thudarunnu), best child artist (male) Master Vivas (Best Actor).
The television and drama awards were also unveiled at the same time. Life time achievement awards were also announced for the dedications and performances of Papukutty Bhagavathar, cinematographer and director Balu Mahendra and drama actress Vijay Kumari. The awards are given in memory of J C Daniel, the first film maker of Kerala.
