Kerala Strikers led by Mohanlal lost their first match to Chennai Rhinos who were the winners of CCL last season.Chennai Rhinos won the closely contested match by one wicket. Kerala Strikers Won the toss and chose to bat first.Batting first Kerala Strikers posted a total of 112 runs. Pillai was the top scorer with a swashbuckling 44 of 33 and he was well-supported by Kurup who made a valuable 30.In reply Chennai Rhinos finished the match with five balls and one wicket to spare.Kerala Strikers conceeded 28 extras which led to their downfall.Kurup followed his good batting with a splendid bowling perfomance taking three wickets and conceeding only 17 runs in his 4 overs.Jiva top scored for Chennai Rhinos with 27 runs.This was the fourth match of the second season of CCL.
