of Bollywood, will inaugurate the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) at Thiruvananthapuram on December 10.As many as 200 films from 83 countries in 16 categories will be screened in the 15th edition of of the film festival.
In an attempt to promote the cinema of the state, all Malayalam films selected for the year’s IFFK would be given a cash grand of Rs.1 lakh each, which would be to be shared by the director and producer.Eight films including ‘Electra’, ‘Aatmakatha’, Janaki’, Veetilekkulla Vazhy’, ‘Yugapurushan’, ‘Chithrakuzhal’ and ‘Makaramanju’ have been selected for the Malayalam Cinema section.
The festival will have retrospective of TV Chandran and German film maker Rainer Werner Fassibinder.Over 8,000 delegates and eminent filmmakers are expected to attend the event.
