World’s first H3N8 bird flu death reported

Geneva: The World Health Organization has confirmed the world’s first H3N8 bird flu death. The 56-year-old woman died of the disease in mid-March. They are the third person to be infected with H3N8 in China. The virus was reported in two boys earlier, but they recovered. They started showing symptoms at the end of February. Death occurred in the middle of last month. It is not yet possible to find out where they got the disease from.

This is the subtype of avian influenza that is most common in birds. The World Health Organization publishes a report on this.

Animals such as chickens, birds, horses, cats, and foxes have all reported this virus. But scientists say the chances of the virus being transmitted from animals to humans are very low. This virus was first discovered in wild birds in 1960. Later, the virus was also found in animals.
