Abu Dhabi: Today is a public holiday in Saudi Arabia in celebration of the Saudi team’s upset victory over Argentina in the World Cup football tournament held in Qatar.
The public holiday was declared by the Saudi ruler King Salman.
All institutions and educational institutions including private institutions in the country will remain closed.
Saudi Arabia’s win over Argentina was one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history. Saudi Arabia beat two-time world champions Messi’s team by two goals to one in a thrilling Group C match at Lusail Maidan.
