Abuja: 76 people died after the boat overturned during the floods in Nigeria. The accident happened in the Niger river in Anambra state.
The accident occurred while the river was in flood. Cramming more people in the boat also caused the disaster. There were 85 passengers in the boat. The search for the missing persons is ongoing.
Officials said that the water level in the river is rising steadily, which is hampering the rescue operation.
