News agencies quoted police as saying that a woman was beheaded and two others were stabbed to death in an attack in the French city of Ness. Several people were stabbed in the attack. The city mayor tweeted that the incident was a clear terrorist attack.
The attack struck shortly afternoon in front of a church in the city. Mayor Christine Estrosi said on Twitter that several people had been injured and the attacker had been arrested. Reuters reports that the French anti-terrorism unit has ordered an investigation.
