Kabul: The Taliban regime in Afghanistan has banned women from celebrating the festival. The Taliban issued an order banning women from participating in Eid celebrations in public places. The Taliban order states that women should not appear in public on Eid. According to this, women cannot participate in Eid celebrations in two provinces.
Through two notifications, women have also been banned from going out in groups during Eid-ul-Fitr in Takhar (Northeastern Province) and Baghlan (Northern Province).
The order also states that it is mandatory to mention Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada in Eid prayers. Earlier this month, the Taliban banned families and women from entering restaurants with gardens or similar in the northwestern province of Herat.
