Kabul: Taliban government bans university education for girls in Afghanistan. Afghanistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Neda Mohammad Nadeem, has ordered that girls’ university education be suspended until further notice. He said in a letter to government and private universities that the directive should be implemented immediately.
After the Taliban came to power in the country, strict restrictions were imposed on girls in universities. The Taliban had set up separate classrooms for boys and girls, separated by curtains, and instructed that girls be taught only by female teachers or senior male teachers. Following this, an order has been issued banning girls from university education itself.
