Texas: A shooting at a school in Texas, USA has claimed the lives of 19 children, a teacher, and two school staff. Several people were seriously injured. An 18-year-old gunman was reportedly killed in a police shooting. The shooting was reportedly carried out by Salvador Ramos, a native of Uvalde.
Police have not yet been able to determine the motive of the killer. The accident happened at Rob Elementary School in Uvalde. About 600 students study here. The injured were taken to two hospitals in the area. Two children were transferred to San Antonio for treatment. Meanwhile, all campuses in the area have been closed following the shooting.
US President Joe Biden has expressed shock at the incident. Biden said he would take strong action against the gun lobby in the wake of the attack. Biden said he was tired of hearing the news and that it was time for all leaders and lawmakers to work together.
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also strongly condemned the shooting. Harris said the incident was heartbreaking and would take strong action to find the culprits and prevent such incidents from happening again.
