Kyiv: Russia’s airstrikes on a military training ground near the Polish border in Ukraine have killed at least 35 people and injured 134 others.
Regional Governor Maxim Kozitsky said Russian planes had fired more than 30 rockets at the Yavoriv International Center for Peacekeeping and Security.
Also known as the International Peacekeeping and Security Center, the site has long been used to train Ukrainian military personnel. Sources say that there are also trainers from the US and other NATO countries.
Russian fighters also opened fire on the airport in the western city of Ivanovsk-Frankivsk, about 250 kilometers from Ukraine’s border with Slovakia and Hungary.
