Bhuwaneswar: BJD leader and Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishor Das succumbed to his injuries after being shot by ASI. The minister was attacked when he was going to participate in a public program at Brajraj Nagar Gandhi Chowk.
ASI Gopal Chandra Das, who was a police officer, shot at the minister while he was getting out of his car for the inauguration ceremony of the new party office.
Naba Das is a minister in Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet. Das had two bullets stuck in his chest. He died in the evening due to his critical condition.
Meanwhile, the accused SI’s wife came forward with a reaction to the shooting incident. His wife said that accused Gopal Chandra Das has mental problems. The wife had said that the husband was under a lot of pressure and was not aware of any hostility towards the minister.
