This year’s Nobel Prize for Literature goes to South Korean writer Han Kang. The award is given by the Swedish Academy. The prize money is 11 million Swedish crowns (11 lakh dollars).
Han was born in 1970 in Gwangju, South Korea. She was from a literary family. Her father was a prominent novelist.
Han’s literary debut was writing poetry. She has written novels and short stories. She won the International Booker Prize in 2016 for The Vegetarian. I Don’t Bid Farewell is a recently published novel.
