Currently, there is no specific treatment or vaccine available for human metapneumovirus.
Respiratory diseases may rise in winter. HMPV virus was first discovered in 2001. Experts say that cough, fever and shortness of breath are its important symptoms.
Some have only mild cold-like symptoms. Some have symptoms similar to Covid. It is essential to take some precautions like covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze and washing your hands frequently. China is reportedly experiencing an increase in multiple viruses, including influenza A, HMPV, mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Covid-19.
