Kathmandu: Death toll rises to 68 in Nepal plane crash. Yeti Airlines ATR 72 flight carrying 72 passengers, including five Indians, crashed in Nepal’s Pokhara at eleven o’clock this morning. The plane, which was coming from Kathmandu to Pokhara, crashed 20 minutes before reaching its destination.
Reports indicate that the cause of the accident was bad weather in Nepal during the landing. Eyewitnesses said that before reaching the runway, the plane hit the ground with a loud noise and caught fire.
Initially people could not rescue the plane as it caught fire. The cause of the accident is not clear. There were 72 people on board, including four crew members. This airport started functioning 15 days ago. The Nepal government has announced that it will conduct a detailed investigation into the incident. The names of the passengers have been released. The Prime Minister of Nepal called an emergency cabinet meeting.
