Beijing: China announces another lockdown in Shanghai. The two-month-long complete lockdown was lifted and re-established two days before it was due to close. The new lockdown was imposed in the Jingan and Pudong areas of the city.
Seven new covid cases were reported here yesterday. The control is for 14 days. There have been widespread protests against the complete closure of Shanghai, China’s financial capital, for two months.
Travel restrictions were also tightened when the lockdown was lifted. Travel permits were issued only to those with a covid negative certificate taken within two days.
