New York: The governor of New York has tightened gun laws in the wake of the genocide at a supermarket in Buffalo. The age for purchasing a semi-automatic rifle has been raised from 18 to 21. Kathy Hochul has approved a package of gun reform laws passed by the state Senate in the wake of last month’s shooting deaths of 10 people.
These measures were intensified while increasing massacres in the US. Peyton Gendron, 18, has revealed that he shot and killed an employee at Tops Friendly Market with an AR-15 rifle he had legally purchased.
The revised gun law states that a permit must now be obtained for the purchase of semiautomatic rifles. Democratic New York already has some of the strongest gun laws in the United States.
U.S. President Joe Biden has approved new gun control legislation, including a ban on weapons.
