France says it has carried out an airstrike in Bamako, Mali, killing 50 al Qaeda terrorists. The French government says the attack took place on Friday on the Burkina Faso-Niger border. Four terrorists have been arrested.
The defense minister said the attack came after drone surveillance revealed that terrorists were preparing to attack several motorbikes in the border area. Two Mirage jets and a drone arrived for the missile attack. Ansarul Islam group terrorists linked to Al Qaeda were killed.
French Defense Minister Florence Parle has said she is working hard to curb terrorism in the region. The attack was carried out by the French-led Barclays Force. Large quantities of weapons were seized.
