Sao Paulo: Football legend Pele has passed away. He was 82 years old. Died at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo after colon cancer. He was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated. Pele’s daughter confirmed the death on Instagram.
Pele adapted the game of football to the field. The player who won the World Cup three times for Brazil has gone down in history. These titles were in 1958, 1962, and 1970 World Cups. Pele is the only footballer to own this feat.
He was born on October 23, 1940, in Tres Coracoes, Brazil. Father João Ramos do Nascimento Doninho and mother Celeste Arantes. In 1956, at the age of fifteen, he started playing with Brazil’s famous football club Santos. Santos made his senior debut on September 7, 1956, against Corinthians. Pele also added a goal to his name in that match, which Santos won by seven goals to one.
