Colombo: Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who was elected as the new president of Sri Lanka, dissolved the parliament. He signed a special gazette notification in this regard. It will come into effect from Tuesday night.
The general election is on November 14. The parliament was dissolved with 11 months remaining. The country last faced general elections in August 2020.
