Beijing: Covid outbreak intensifies in China, Authorities have decided to impose a partial lockdown in the Chinese city of Shanghai. The covid expansion began in Shanghai in the first week of March.
The lockdown will be in place in the eastern part of Shanghai from Monday to Friday. However, officials said they would not impose a complete lockdown in Shanghai. The complete lockdown has been avoided as there are fears that the introduction of a complete lockdown in the country’s major financial hub could affect the overall system.
In the city of Shanghai, people are advised not to leave the office as the lockdown continues and for offices to operate on a work-from-home basis. The impact of covid on 4,500 new people in China through contact has caused great concern. Public transportation is also not available on restricted days. The regulations do not mention air-train services.
