Paris: Two more variants of covid were discovered. It was in mid-February that the new covid variant, a combination of the covid variant Delta and the subspecies Omicron, was first discovered in France. This was followed by the discovery of two more variants.
All three variants are named XD, XF and XE. The XD and XF variants are a combination of the French Delta and BA1 variants. Of these, BA1 is the spike protein and the rest is the delta. XE is a combination of BA1 and BA2 variants. The British Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) has announced that studies are underway to determine the prevalence and severity of the variants.
Of these, X-Audi has been found to be the most pervasive. The presence of the X-Audi variant has been confirmed in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark. It contains the structural protein of delta.
Renowned virologist Tom Peacock said that studies show that XD may be a variant that has the ability to function differently than previous variants. He added that these variants are being monitored by those caught. Scientists at the University of Glasgow have suggested that covid 19 may have evolved in this way.
