London: Britain’s King Charles III will be crowned on May 6 next year. The British royal family announced this on Twitter. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey.
Buckingham Palace said the celebrations will reflect the monarch’s importance today and look to the future. The Archbishop of Canterbury will crown the King. After consecrating the king, the bishop himself will give the scepter to King Charles. Queen Camilla will also be crowned at a similar ceremony.
Charles becomes king after the death of Queen Elizabeth. Prince Charles is 73 years old. Queen Elizabeth passed away last month due to age-related ailments. He was 96 years old. The Queen died while staying at Balmoral Palace in Scotland under the observation of an expert team including doctors.
