London: Parliament backs historic decision to withdraw Brexit from EU bill passed with a majority of 124 votes. Notably, Boris Johnson achieved this just a week after he was elected as prime minister. In the second reading of the bill, the bill passed with a vote of 358 votes against 234. With this, Britain is sure to leave the EU by the end of next month. Boris had earlier called for the bill to move forward with its old practices of stay and quit.
“We have a chance to remove the uncertainty of the backslide and we are finally getting back to it,” he said. He said voters’ decision to leave the European Union should not be considered a victory for one party over another. Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn had earlier said he would continue to vehemently oppose his party’s bill. But some MPs in the Labor Party argued that the election result was meant to support the bill. Now after Christmas, the church will meet again on the 7th of next month. The move is expected to be completed by the end of January. Corbin noted that the bill, which was introduced yesterday, eliminated crucial promises, including workers’ rights.
