New Delhi: Air India has canceled flights to Kabul due to the closure of flights to Afghanistan, an Air India spokesperson has said.
Earlier, it was announced that an Air India flight would depart for Kabul at 12.30 pm today to bring back Indians stranded in Afghanistan. The Central Government has directed Air India to prepare more flights for emergency flights. Kabul airport is experiencing heavy traffic. Many people are fleeing the country since the Taliban took power in Kabul. Meanwhile, there are reports that the airport has been closed.
Meanwhile, the Taliban hoisted the Taliban flag at the Kabul palace in Afghanistan. The Afghan flag was removed. Al Jazeera, an Arab media outlet, released footage from the Kabul palace. There are indications that Mulla Abdul Ghani Baran will be the new president.
