Kiev: Heavy damage caused by Russian attack on the main airport in the Nipro region of Ukraine. Significant damage was done to the runway and terminal building. “It will take time to recover from the losses, but in the end there will be victory,” Regional Governor Valentine Resnichenko told reporters. A 35-hour curfew will be imposed in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, as Russian shelling intensifies. The curfew will be from 8pm to 7am on Thursday, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said.
It was forbidden to travel in the city without special permission except to go to the bomb shelters. The capital, Kiev, is the heart of Ukraine and will be defended. “We do not abandon Kiev, the current symbol of Europe’s independence, security and working base,” he said.
