Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is in Coimbatore for two days with the motive of participating in a cleanliness drive, set up by Canara Bank and the State-Level Bankers Committee of Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) under the Swachh Bharat campaign.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with her secretary Vivek Joshi, Department of Financial Services, are on two visits to Coimbatore city to heed a sequel of pre-planned occasions. The Minister talked to officers of the two banks and moved to tidy up Bharathi Colony Road in Peelamedu where Sanitation staffers from the Coimbatore corporation and bank staff tied up with her.
Cheques of Rs.10 Lakh and Rs.5 Lakh were offered by Canara Bank and IOB to A.Selvasurabhi, Deputy Commissioner of the Coimbatore Corporation under their (CSR) Corporate Social Responsibility.
