New Delhi: Nirbhaya case convicts sentenced to death. The judge spoke to the defendants via video conference. The court has ordered the journalists to move out after the accused Mukesh had informed the court that a media inquiry was being held. The accused Vinay Sharma and Mukesh will file a correctional petition. The accused had demanded the death penalty not be executed in the Nirbhaya case.
A paramedic student was brutally assaulted in a bus in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar at around 9 pm on December 16, 2012. The girl died on December 29 after undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital. Police have arrested six people involved in the incident. The prime accused driver, Ramsingh, died in prison in March 2013. One has the benefit of not being 18 years old. Ramsingh’s brother Mukesh, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Akshay Thakur have been sentenced to death. On December 18, the Supreme Court dismissed the plea of one of the accused, Akshay Singh, seeking the abolition of the death penalty.
