Baghdad: Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, is once again on the brink of rising concern in West Asia. The rocket attack took place near the US embassy in Baghdad on Saturday. The Iraqi army said no casualties were reported.
The rocket fired near the US Embassy and the Balad Air Force Base camp. The rockets are believed to have been fired at Celebration Square and Jadria in the highly protected area of Greenzon. The base camp at Balad is a military base set up by US soldiers.
Greenzone is home to many government offices and foreign corporations. Meanwhile, the US military has increased its airspace in Baghdad following a rocket attack.
Earlier, the US had once again attacked Iraq in the aftermath of the airstrikes that killed the leaders of the Iranian and Iraqi forces in a world war. Iraqi paramilitary wing Hashid al-Shaabi’s air force crashed into the air, killing six people. Three were seriously injured.
In Baghdad, the Iranian army commander Major General Qasim Solaimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Hashid al-Shabi, were killed 24 hours before the dead. Iraq Television reports that the US carried out the airstrikes. But the United States denied responsibility for the attack.
