CHANDY OOMMEN IS THE CANDIDATE IN PUTHUPPALLY, OFFICIALLY DECLARED BY CONGRESS.
The Congress party officially announced Chandy Oommen as the Congress candidate for the bye-election to the Legislative Assembly of Kerala from 98 – Puthuppally Constituency.
The news coming from the world of Kerala Politics is that Chandy Oommen has been announced as the candidate in Puthuppally. Chandy Oommen, the UDF candidate, is the son of late former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. When the byelection was announced, the results favoured Chandy Oommen. Candidate announcements were made after debates by congressional leaders at the AICC.
KPCC president K Sudhakaran announced the candidate with AICC support after consulting with key leaders including President Mallikarjun Kharge. According to KC Venugopal, there is no better candidate in Puthuppally than Chandy Oommen. KC Venugopal also said the announcement of the candidate within hours of the announcement of the election is a historic event.
Chandy Oommen stated that the party has entrusted him with significant responsibilities. Chandy Oommen said, working like his father is a significant task.
Only 27 days are left for the Pudupally byelection. August 17 is the last date for submission of papers in the constituency. Polling will be held in the constituency on September 5. The counting of votes for the Pudupally byelection will take place on September 8.
