Srinagar: The e-commerce company Amazon has bought chemicals to make explosives for the Pulwama terror attack. NIA officials said one of the two men arrested in the case had admitted to buying chemicals through Amazon. Officials said they admitted this during their initial interrogation.
The NIA yesterday arrested 19-year-old Waizul Islam from Srinagar and 32-year-old Abbas Rather from Pulwama. With this, the number of arrests this week has reached five.
‘The Pulwama terrorist attack used an improvised exposure device. The chemicals, batteries, and other materials used to manufacture it are from Amazon, the e-commerce company.
According to the NIA, Jaish-e-Mohammed was providing the terrorists with the chemicals Vayuzul Islam Online and Mohammed Abbas Rather was hiding in his home. The two men will be produced before the NIA Special Court today.
Pulwama was attacked using ammonium nitrate, nitroglycerin, and RDX. Investigators have identified the DNA batch of Adil Ahmad Dar Jaishe-e Mohemmed terrorist who was involved in the blast.
A few days before the Pulwama attack on Adil Ahmad Dar and other Jaish terrorists Sameed Ahmad Dar and Kamran, Vaizul Islam stayed in his home. It was Vaizul Islam who later took Adil to the house of Tariq Ahmed Shah, another Jaish aide. According to NIA officials, the video footage was shot in advance of the terrorist attack.
On February 19, 2019, a CRPF vehicle was struck by a terrorist attack in Pulwama. Of these, 40 were killed by CRPF officials.
