Stockholm: This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics has been announced. The award was shared by Roger Penrose, a British citizen, Reinhard Genzel of Germany, and Andrea Ghez of the United States.

Pentos received the award for his study of the black hole. The other two received the award for their discovery of a supermassive compact object at the center of the galaxy. The Nobel Prize in Medicine was announced yesterday.

Roger Penrose is a scientist at Oxford University. Roger Penrose won the award for his discovery of the importance of the theory of relativity in the formation of the black hole.

Ghez and Genzel received the award for their discovery of a supermassive compact object at the center of our galaxy. Both will receive half of the prize money.

Ghez is a researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. Genzel, meanwhile, is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Germany and the University of California, Berkeley in the US.
