The serial revolves around the endearing relationship between Muthassi, a devout grandmother, and her granddaughter Unnimol, both ardent devotees of Lord Ayyappan. Unnimol, an orphan, has been under the care of Muthassi since infancy, and together they sustain themselves by selling vegetables from their garden.
Unnimol faces societal rejection and ridicule due to her unfortunate circumstances, labeled by her relatives, neighbors, and classmates as a bearer of ill fate. Her journey is marked by the tragic loss of her mother during childbirth and her father’s abandonment due to insurmountable debts. However, both Unnimol and Muthassi hold steadfast to their belief that Lord Ayyappan will guide them through life’s challenges.
The narrative takes an extraordinary turn when Lord Ayyappan, disguised as a school-going child named Giridevan, enters their lives. Giridevan becomes an indispensable support for Unnimol, aiding her in conquering adversities and fulfilling her lifelong dream of visiting Sabarimala.
