Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala International Film Festival will kick off on February 10 in Thiruvananthapuram. 80 films will be screened this time. About 50 films will be screened in all four regions in eight categories including International Competition, Indian Cinema, Homage, and World Cinema. Most films are included in the world cinema category. Famous films such as Thomas Winterberg’s Another Round, Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Wife of a Spy, and Ahmed Bahrami’s The Waste Land will be screened in this category.
The closing ceremony will be held on March 5 in Palakkad. Apart from the Tagore Theater, the main venue in Thiruvananthapuram, the performances will be held at Kairali, Sree, Nila, Kalabhavan, and Nishagandhi. The fair is conducted in full compliance with the Covid norms. The Academy and the Department of Health have arranged for a free antigen test at the Tagore Theater on February 8, 9, and 10 for delegates, officials, volunteers, and duty staff attending the fair. Academy Secretary Ajoy Chandran informed.
Distribution of festival passes and kits will begin on February 8. Passes will be issued through special counters set up at the Tagore Theater in Thiruvananthapuram. Start the antigen test with the pass distribution.
The fair will be held in Kochi from February 17 to 21, Thalassery from February 23 to 27, and Palakkad from March 1 to 5.
