NewDelhi: China says India and China have begun withdrawing from the north and south shores of Lake Pangong. From today, senior Chinese and Indian troops on the southern and northern shores of the lake have begun to retreat, China’s defense spokesman Senior Colonel Wu Qian said in a written statement. India has not yet commented on the statement.
But the government has not denied reports from the Chinese Ministry of Defense. Colonel Qian said the move was in line with an agreement reached during a military commander-in-chief meeting on the Chinese Moldo-Chushul border last month. India had made it clear that both sides had agreed to withdraw.
