Kochi: Local authorities have stopped uploading the personal information of Covid patients on the sprinkler site following the High Court’s strict rules on data security.
The information was uploaded to the Sprinkler company site two weeks ago. According to an order issued by the local department on March 27, the information collected was uploaded to the sprinkler site. The court had suggested a number of options for providing data. The upload was terminated following this.
When the local bodies were obstructed from uploading the information, they sought the help of the city and panchayat directorates, then only the department heads came to know about this, reports said. Sprinkler’s web address (Uniform Resource Locator) has not been received since April 13. This is why local authorities have stopped uploading personal information.
The only thing that is currently being done is to collect the number of Covid patients and those on Quarantine.
The proposal was to upload the information to another website, housevisit.kerala.gov.in. But it is also known to be ineffective. But the local department is not aware of this. With this, the collection of personal information through local bodies came to a complete standstill.
The information currently being collected is uploaded by the Local Kerala Mission’s Pandemic LSGD application. There is no personal information on this. At the same time, local authorities are preparing their own data sheets to collect information on their own. Some corporations even have their own mobile app and website. They upload the personal information they collect.
