Procedures to start Zoo Safari Park in Thaliparambu. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The proposed park will be set up on the land owned by the Plantation Corporation, located on the side of the Thaliparambu – Alakode state highway. The Agriculture Department has decided to release 256 acres of land for this purpose. A letter of objection has been issued to the Revenue Department to hand over the land held by the Plantation Corporation in Nadukani Division. The chief minister directed that the revenue department should issue the order within ten days after completing the procedures.
The park has been designed in such a way that the monkeys and birds can roam in a natural forest environment and not in cages. The design of the park is to keep the existing nature as it is and carry out natural afforestation. Tourists will be transported through the park in armored vehicles. The park will also have a botanical garden, a rainwater tank and a natural history museum. Employees of the Plantation Corporation will be absorbed into the proposed park.
