Thiruvananthapuram: In conjunction with the state’s Wildlife Week, entry to all wildlife sanctuaries is free for the public. Also, it has been decided to conduct extensive competitions for students and general public on state and district basis. The concluding session of the week-long celebration will be held on October 8 in Kozhikode.
The state-level inauguration of the Wildlife Week 2023 will be held at Zoological Park, Puthur, Thrissur on Monday, October 2 at 10 am. The function will be presided over by Revenue Minister Adv K Rajan and will be inaugurated by Forest and Wildlife Minister AK Saseendran. Minister K Krishnan Kutty will inaugurate the Zoological Park sub-station and transfer of peacocks from Thrissur Zoo will be done by Minister J Chinchurani.
As part of the wildlife week celebrations of the museum and zoo department, school and college students will be given free entry to the Thiruvananthapuram zoo from October 2 to 8.
