Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Rajan P Dev’s son Unniraj is in custody. He was taken into custody by the police in connection with his wife’s suicide. Unnirajan was taken into custody by Nedumangad DySP from Angamaly. His wife and brother had complained against Unni at Vattapara station.
Unni and Priyanka from Vembayam, Thiruvananthapuram got married in November 2019 after a year and a half of love. The family alleges that Unni and her mother started harassing her for dowry three months after the marriage. According to the family, Unni Rajan P Dev swindled money by making various demands. He demanded money from Priyanka’s family, including buying a flat and a car in Kochi. Three lakh rupees were given on several occasions. According to the family, Priyanka was evicted from her home in Angamaly last Monday. The family had handed over the footage of the assault to the police.
Priyanka was found hanged at her home in Vembayam yesterday. The day before, Priyanka had lodged a complaint against Unni at the Vattapara police station. Police have registered a case of unnatural death.
