Thiruvananthapuram: The weather department has warned that widespread rain will continue in the state today. Yellow alert has been announced in 11 districts today. Rain warning has been issued in the districts except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta. Yellow alert today in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
It is clear that the rain will be heavy in the afternoon. More rain is likely in North Kerala. Monsoons are caused by low pressure formed over Odisha and low-pressure trough in Arabian Sea. Fishermen have also been warned not to go out to sea as there is a risk of severe storms.
