Wayanad Lok Sabha, Palakkad and Chelakara by-election date announced. Voting in all the three seats will be held on November 13. Counting of votes will be on November 23. The by-elections in Wayanad became necessary after Rahul Gandhi resigned as a member of the Lok Sabha. With K Radhakrishnan becoming a Member of Parliament from Alathur, in Chelakkara and Shafi Parampil winning from Vadakara and becoming a Lok Sabha member, Palakkad was also called for by-elections. In connection with this, elections to Maharashtra and Jharkhand Legislative Assemblies were also announced. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar announced that the elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly will be held on November 20. Candidates can submit their papers till October 25 to contest the elections.
Elections are being held for 288 constituencies in Maharashtra. Counting of votes in Maharashtra will take place on November 23. The Jharkhand assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20. Elections will be held in 81 constituencies of Jharkhand. Counting of votes in Maharashtra and Jharkhand is on November 23. Maharashtra has 9.63 crore voters and Jharkhand has 2.6 crore voters. The Chief Election Commissioner said that there will be 1.186 lakh polling stations in Maharashtra and 29562 polling stations in Jharkhand. Polling in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase.
