Vizhinjam: The hunger strike led by priests at Vizhinjam port has ended. The hunger strike was held on the allegation that the police prevented the delivery of food to the workers who came to the strike and beat up the priests.
Meanwhile, the district administration has informed that the policemen mentioned in the complaint will not be assigned to duty. With this, it was decided to end the hunger strike.
Under the leadership of Samara Samiti Convenor Fr. Theodosius D’Cruz, six people, including priests, took an indefinite hunger strike in front of the port gate.
