Thiruvananthapuram: After a long period of uncertainty, V.S. D Satheesan has been decided as Opposition Leader of Kerala by the Congress High Command. The party central leadership informed the leaders in the state about this. Based on the report of the team led by Mallikarjuna Kharge, V.S. D Satheesan was elected as the Leader of the Opposition. The majority of the MPs from Kerala had demanded a change of leadership. The majority of the party’s young MLAs, Youth Congress, and KSU office bearers had demanded a change of leadership. Several phone calls, resolutions, and requests from the state went to the party’s high command. But Oommen Chandy defended Chennithala till the end. But VM Sudheeran, prof. P. J. Kurian and others demanded a change of leadership.
