Kannur: Health Minister KK Shailaja said that the Covid vaccine is only for two-day available in Kerala. The minister also said that more vaccines have been requested from the Center. The Chief Minister has sent a letter to the Central Government in this regard. Minister also said that he had called the Union Health Secretary directly.

The minister said more vigilance was needed regarding Covid. There is a positive increase in Covid cases every day. The minister said the health department has decided that there should be planning in each district accordingly.

Panchayat level resistance will be strengthened. Ward level monitoring will be intensified. Those with symptoms will be identified and examined. The quarantine of the sick will be ensured. Home treatment is allowed only for those who have a toilet attached to the room.

Patients with serious problems will be rushed to nearby Covid Hospitals. The Department of Health has now adopted an attempt to break Covid’s curve. As part of this, the minister said, the aim is to vaccinate everyone over the age of 45.

In areas where the test positivity rate is high, special interventions will be made. District wise DMOs will look into the matter. The Health Minister said that it has been decided to strengthen contract tracing and increase inspections.
