Thiruvananthapuram: It has been found that Bijulal, the accused in the treasury fraud case in Vanchiyoor had diverted more money to his account. The fraudulent money was first transferred to treasury accounts. It was then transferred to his account. No fraud was detected at the time as the money was first transferred to the treasury account. Bijulal was taken to Vanchiyoor sub-treasury and district treasury today and evidence was taken.
It is alleged that Bijulal embezzled Rs 2 crore 73 lakh from the Vanchiyoor sub-treasury. The role of Bijulal’s wife, the second accused in the case, will also be further investigated. Questioning and taking of evidence are done with the help of technical experts. Bijulal stole the password of a former treasury officer. Bhaskaran, a former treasury officer, had also said that he had given the password to Bijulal when he went home a day earlier.
